An Unexpected Symphony of Release and Healing: My Massage Experience at Elements
Hey friends, oh do I have a story to share! Today's adventure took me to Elements Massage and, lemme just spill, it was...wow. There’s a new masseuse on the block (well new to me) and her name’s Halo. Yes, Halo! And I mean, after today, she might just be my guardian massage angel.
Now, I’ve been pampered and pressed in some magical places, Vegas, Texas, Idaho, California. I was blissfully unaware that I was about to embark on a journey that might have just secured its place as the second most transformative massage of my life (the first will forever be that magical escapade at Olympus Day Spa in Lynnwood), but this, this was a whole new journey. Halo introduced me to something I’ve never, ever had before - trigger point therapy. She called these tender, singy things she found in my muscles "zingers", and friends, it's like she was playing my back like a piano!
Imagine someone gracefully strumming your tendons, and with every stroke, it sings, it zings, and then - POOF - release. It was a wild ride from “What the heck is happening?!” to “Oh, please never stop” in like, a second flat.
I had the full works, a whopping 1.5 hours of exploration into ear reflexology, hand, foot you name it - she zinged it. And while there wasn’t a lot of like, super deep elbow digs, those trigger point releases did all the heavy lifting, getting rid of all the nasties without me having to grit my teeth through it.
Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all lie back and think of your happy place; it was kinda funny painful, ya know? Your girl here laughs at pain so, you can imagine, it was giggles amidst the gasps. But I didn’t jump off the table sooooo that’s still a win for me!
But then we got to the scalp massage and pals, this was NEXT. LEVEL. My scalp was all bumpy, who knew?! Not I! And Halo was like, "Nuh-uh, it’s not meant to be like that!" So after some epic tension-release work around my face, neck and scalp, the bumpy interlopers were almost all gone! She told me it’d help with tension headaches, stress, and my forever nemesis – focus, especially when I’m chained to my computer or recording.
I gotta say, when I floated outta there, I sent a little thank you up to the universe for dropping Halo into my day. So yeah, she’s on my calendar for a 2-hour slot in a month and I. Can’t. Wait.
Shout out to Halo, who hit all the right notes and played my tendons like a maestro! Can’t wait for the next symphony.
