Discover the Top 10 Gym Machines Men Love: Unleash Your Fitness Potential with These Proven Workout Stations!
As a fitness equipment expert and gym designer, I've often get asked, “What are must-have “guy” pieces?”. So I put together a list of the top 10 machines men often gravitate towards in commercial gyms, but the ladies will ultimately benefit as well. Remember that preferences can vary, and offering a diverse range of equipment to cater to different fitness goals and abilities is essential. So, without further ado, let's dive into these popular machines:
Smith Machine: This versatile piece of equipment is a crowd-pleaser, allowing users to perform squats, bench presses, and shoulder presses with an added layer of safety. There are many on the market today, from 7 and 3 degrees to straight vertical.
Cable Crossover Machine: This all-rounder targets different muscle groups, including chest, back, shoulders, and arms, providing limitless exercise options. This is my all-time favorite and I think every gym should start with this machine.
Leg Press: A must-have for any gym, the leg press is perfect for targeting the lower body, specifically the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes. Again there are many options out there, from plate loaded (most common) to selectorized.
Lat Pulldown Machine: This classic gym staple focuses on the upper back and lats while engaging the biceps and forearms. Now if you decide to go with a multi-station cable cross, you can avoid purchasing this as a separate unit as they typically come on the multi as one of the stations.
Chest Press Machine: Designed to sculpt the chest muscles (pectoralis major and minor), this machine also works the triceps and anterior deltoids.
Seated Row Machine: A fan favorite for upper body workouts, it targets the middle back, rear deltoids, and biceps—another station on a multi-gym cable cross.
Hack Squat Machine: Give your members' legs a run for their money with this machine, which zeroes in on the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes while also engaging the lower back and calves. No one should ever have put their backs at risk by flipping around on a leg press for this movement.
Bicep Curl Machine: A popular choice for isolating and targeting the biceps, ensuring those arms get the attention they deserve. You can get either a full machine for this or just a curl bench & preset barbells. Some gyms go all in on the “gun show” and get their members both.
Tricep Extension Machine: Say hello to toned triceps with this machine, perfect for isolating and developing upper body strength. Another station on the multi-gym cable cross (now, do you see why I love that machine so much?)
Shoulder Press Machine: Last but not least, this machine is perfect for sculpting powerful shoulders, targeting the deltoids and engaging the triceps.
