Top Forgotten Equipment At The Gym

It's no surprise that some equipment is forgotten more than others but there is something you can do about it.

Here is a variety of fitness equipment that may be forgotten about at the gym and solutions to help keep your gym clean. Some common examples include:

1. Free weights: These can be easily left behind on weight racks or on bars, and not to mention the old squat rack. Solution: have storage close by and lead by example by putting things up yourself and or staff.
2. Resistance bands: These are often used for stretching and strength training in a separate area and can be left on the floor or forgotten in a gym bag. Please don't steal people! A basket or wall hanger can let members know they have a place to go when done.
3. Medicine balls: Weighted balls are often used for core and strength training and can be left on the floor or roll into corners. Storage stands can be an affordable solution to help keep your gym clean and organized.

Make it stand out

Troy Accessories Rack offers a compact storage and organization solution for light fitness equipment & accessories. Made with efficiency in mind, the rack cleverly stores stability balls, med balls, & covered resistance bands in any room corner.

4. Weighted bars: We all know the person who is lifting then gets a call mid-sesh and forgets to come put back their bar and weights. Don't be that person, be courteous of the next lifter. Make sure plate trees are close to lifting stations.
5. Kettlebells: These weights can be left along the wall or worse in the middle of the gym, just begging your big toe to kick it. Once again, storage, storage, storage. If everything has a home, you have set the standard for a clean, organized gym.
6. Cardio equipment: You may think cardio is fine but treadmills, stationary bikes, and other cardio equipment can be left turned on after use. You can have signage, let your staff know to be on the lookout and when buying equipment, look for self-generating stuff that won't be on when not in use.

Just remember your gym is a reflection of you and your values. If you have a messy gym, members think that is to be expected and will put minimum effort into keeping it clean and organized. You set the standards.
